“VISUALWIZE is unlike other visualization training tools in that you are not required to visualize moves based on reading notation. Instead, VISUALWIZE makes use of arrows, on the board, to help you stay focused on the visualization process.”
Each set of Visualwize lets you:
- Visualize more than 800 moves in 160 chess positions
- Train your brain to visualize up to 8 moves ahead (4 moves on each side, or 8-ply in computer-terms).
- See moves in your mind before making them on the board
- Improve step-by-step through 4 levels of difficulty
- Avoid making blunders which makes you lose the game instantly
Testimonials from chess players who actually use VISUALWIZE in their training
Why is it so important to improve your visualization skill?
Well, here’s the thing: If you feel that you are still making too many blunders in your games, or if you find that you are often calculating the same move over and over again – just to be sure you didn’t miss something – then that is definitely a sign that you need to improve your visualization skill.
In fact, visualization skill is one of the most important skills a chess player should possess because, since you are not allowed to move the pieces on the board when you are thinking, you have to be able to visualize those moves in your mind. And you need to be confident in your ability to do so, because if you aren’t — you will constantly doubt yourself – and it is this doubt that could cause you to make a mistake that loses the game right away.
So to help you gain confidence in your ability to visualize the moves in your mind, you can absolutely rely on the training method I use in the VISUALWIZE program because the training method is designed to specifically improve your visualization skill. And the reason why it works so well is that the exercises simulate the actual visualization process that you would use in a real game.
The best way to experience how this training method works is to look at the example that I demonstrated in the video at the top of this page.
More benefits to be gained when you train with VISUALWIZE
- You will be able to see moves in your mind before making them on the board.
- An improved visualisation skill will help you to avoid blunders and mistakes causing you to instantly lose the game.
- Using Visualwize will additionally benefit your training in other aspects of your chess as you improve your ability to visualise notation below chess diagrams.
- Save time on the clock – you won’t need to calculate variations over and over because you will have more confidence in your ability to foresee the consequences of your candidate moves.
- Increase your overall tactical awareness since the exercises require you to visualize tactics in an imaginary position.

Reviews for VISUALWIZE
PAUL WEST: Hi Louis, I just purchased the Visualwize mega bundle and must say, the training concept you’ve come up with is most excellent. In fact, it’s the best I’ve come across so far, and the money was very well spent (how often can you say that?) I’ve already noticed SIGNIFICANT improvement to the depth and speed of my tactical analysis after completing only about 50 exercises at level one; I can’t imagine how strong I’ll be at level four. Every lover of chess should have this powerful resource. Normally I don’t write reviews, but your program is so good I just couldn’t pass it up. Great job! Thank you so much, and congratulations!
GM MACKENZIE MOLNER: Chess is my lifelong passion and I have coached it for more than 10 years. One of the most common problems I see with students (especially adults) is that they have a very hard time improving their calculation skills. They usually end up doing endless puzzles but still have something that fails to click correctly. Unfortunately, in chess there is no substitution for calculation. Without it you are basically just taking an educated guess at whatever might be the best move. Being able to calculate moves ahead and recognize tactics quickly while doing this is absolutely crucial. Despite the fact that this is such an important skill, there have not been a lot of new training techniques created to work on this key area of the game. I am very happy to come across Visualwize because I think it is a new and helpful way to approach visualization and chess calculation. I think it will benefit all players but it will be especially valuable for older adults looking for a methodical way to increase what they can see at the board without moving the pieces, rather than just doing countless tactic puzzles.
WILLIAM BOBBIT: As an adult who struggles to find time to play chess, many times I find myself playing and calculating lines over and over in my head because I simply do not trust my own calculations. Add a couple of other candidate moves into the equation, and I would find myself struggling to keep all of the lines somewhat clear and to keep them separated. As a result, my time management suffered. Training with Visualwize has enabled me to start to “clear the fog” so that I am more confident and I am playing faster. This is what I had been missing in my training, and it has made a world of difference to me. Thank you Louis for developing this innovative training.
PETER NAISH: Louis, what a great way to learn to visualize, warm up before competition, or just have fun ! Visualization, if trained, gets better. Your exercises prove it. Thanks so much for providing this tool ! Hope you produce many more!
To finish, let me say that the graphic design of the boards provides great contrast ; ones focus remains on the tactic and is very clear no matter the number of moves. Instructions are clear and concise as learning the process of visualization can be tedious at best………but not in this case!!!! I do think you have captured the essence of chess in an exercise format…congrats!
ROBERT NADON: I love Visualwize. It’s quite unique and I have found it very useful to exercise my visualization muscles in a game-like context. Other visualization methods I have tried are indirect and much less useful. I highly recommend Visualwize.
KRIS LOOMIS: As someone who came to chess later in life, these exercises have been instrumental in getting me past the awkward beginner phase. Just as artists have to learn to ‘see’ their subjects objectively, chess players must learn to ‘see’ the board and then visualize different possibilities and outcomes. Working with just a couple of these exercises a day has really improved my ability to more accurately move the pieces around in my head and calculate the best move. Thanks, Louis, for such an ingenious and fun way to learn!
RISHI: Visualwize is one of the best tools for learning. Its graphics and examples are amazing. you are doing wonderful job sir, really wonderful.
BRETT PATTERSON: I think this is a great tool to practice tactics, strategy, and calculations. Being able to see the moves and then come up with the best response a few moves down the line is very useful for visualization and long-term calculation practice. The only thing I would say is that I wish they included a way to mark which exercises have been completed and which haven’t. It would be easier to keep track of that way. But great system overall. Thanks!
RODNEY WATSON: If you’re thinking about buying Visualwize, DO IT! This program will definitely help your chess game improve. I find myself thinking deeper in games because of this training. You’re able to plan moves that your opponent just don’t see, and they seem to walk right into traps you set… LOL…!!! About 10 years ago I first bought Visualwize on my old PC and fell in love with the program. After that PC got all bogged down with spyware, malware, viruses and anything else that’ll slow your PC to a grinding halt, I went over to Mac’s. Visualwize isn’t able to run on Mac’s so for years I just did without the program. One day through Visualwize’s advertising I saw the program and wanted it again…!!! Long story short, I purchased a $150.00 PC just to use Visualwize and I purchased Visualwize a second time…!!! The program is that good.
LAURI LAHNASALO: I am very enthusiastic about this tool and I find it very educational. I mean: even in blitz I have begun to see these tactics a couple of moves deep already after just a few days of working with it.
GORDON PRESLEY: I have used the Visualwize program extensively and my visualization skills have significantly improved. Also, the program has helped my pattern recognition skills. The mating combinations demonstrated by these chess masters in actual games were brilliant and remarkable. I highly recommend this program.
ERICH WIEHAN: This is a great program. Thinking deep is a lot easier for me now and I can see the moves much clearer than before. I am not sure how but somehow I even make much less mistakes with my notation since I practiced with Visualwize, it is like I know the squares on the board better!
AJAY RAGHAV: Thanks, this program made me win more games online… Its amazing… The best thing about it is that it doesn’t allow us to move pieces that improves the thinking capability a lot… Thanks a lot 🙂
MATTHEW PRATT: Want to improve at chess? The single best way is tactics and board vision. VisualWize develops both. I gained 400 points in USCF rating using nothing but this tool! Probably the best thing about VW is the mobile support drop VW in Dropbox and it instantly runs on all devices and PCs. Lastly chessfox offers this positional tactics trainer. Want some good advice? Spend your money NOW and buys that. Don’t think about it just do it.
PAUL M GOTTLIEB: This product will certainly improve your chess visualization skills, but it’s also important to note that these exercises are fun to do! They challenge you and force you to calculate and visualize beyond your comfort level. And this is the only way to improve. Any club player will see some improvement after going through these exercises, and he’ll have fun doing them.
JON: Visualwise is an essential tool for those who seriously want to progress in their pursuit of chess mastery. My chess visualizations became much clearer and sharper and this made calculation of deeper lines effortless. Expect to gain a few hundred ELO points improvements in a short duration after re-tuning your chess visions. Great Tool. Highly recommended.
REYNALDO: Visualwize is a great method for those who want to reach their full potential in chess. Making use of this tools make great improvement in playing chess. It is a secret weapon in a training sessions of chess players. Thanks to chessfox, you are the one who introduced this tool for us.
