Blunder Awareness Example #7

Academy | Calculation | Blunder Awareness | Example #7

Black intends to play 1… Na5. Why would this be a blunder?

Solution: 1… Na5? 2. Qb5+, followed by 3. Qxa6

Observation

This is a common blunder where the player focuses only on the threat they are creating (attacking White’s queen) but overlooks the downside of their move—opening the diagonal toward their own king, which White can now exploit.
