Example of Targeting an Exposed King
Black to move. 1… Qb5+ 2. Kg2 (or Kg1) Qg5+, forking the white king and rook on c1.
An exposed king is a target that can be exploited either through a direct attack (since a king in check must respond) or in combination with other targets.
The example illustrates how we can exploit the weakness of an exposed king, in this case by using a sequence of checks to eventually set up a fork.
